For its house’s pre-fall runway show, Prada shows us that black will be the staple color for fall. Pieces of this chic collection will definitely be seen on the streets of Paris, New York, and Milan.
Miuccia Prada was quoted backstage at the fashion show saying, “I always think, Why can’t we have the same thing for women as for men? Known and simple things. Really, that is what I like. Easier to do than ‘fashion.’” And she shrugged, with a laugh. “So it was a very consoling thing to do!” You will note, however, that the girls in this show are wearing dresses and skirts and the boys are in pants. A dissertation in “gender-neutral” dressing—that new buzz phrase for the trend toward what Jonathan Anderson calls a “shared wardrobe,” this collection is not.
Giambattista Valli Pre-Fall 2015 Runway
Valli has somewhat taken a step away from the pretty dresses his known for. This collection is beautiful.
“It’s a new chapter, same book: I always work around my own sense of style,” Valli said of his latest collection, “and I always adore very extraordinary women—very impulsive, artistic, eccentric, and above all chic, all at the same time. A timeless woman.”
