On October 30, 2014, Co-Founder/Global Ambassador Alicia Keys will host the star-studded annual Keep a Child Alive Black Ball in New York at the Hammerstein Ballroom. This year, the charity will honor Givenchy’s Artistic Director, Riccardo Tisci.
Alicia Keys and Leigh Blake, longtime AIDS activist and film/TV producer, joined forces to create the Keep a Child Alive (KCA) charity. Their main goal was to not only bring more attention to this disease, but to also provide medical care to the people of Africa and India suffering from this disease. As a result of her tireless work, the Keep a Child Alive charity has raised over $22 million in efforts to find a cure for HIV/AIDS.
As of 2013, more than 30 million people have died from this disease, and more than 35 million are currently living with it.
While Alicia Keys is doing her part to bring awareness to this disease, we all have a responsibility to help in efforts to find a cure. If you would like to get involved, donate, or purchase tickets/tables to attend the Black Ball please click the link above. Let’s all do our part in finding the cure.
